"Her voice is reminiscent
of a young Dolly Parton - sweet, alluring and totally convincing.
Kelly has created a wonderful album worthy of airplay and commercial
success." -Metronome Magazine
A Colorado native, singer-songwriter
Kaye Kelly's long anticipated debut album "Coming Undone" was well
worth the wait. Over the last decade Kelly's voice has been heard
on national jingles, singing with renowned bands such as the Duke
Ellington Orchestra and Tommy Dorsey Band, a featured soloist at
Walt Disney World, and a first call vocalist in the pop/rock music
scenes of Miami, Orlando and Boston. It was only a matter of time
before she gravitated towards the thing she loves best - song-writing.
Soon after the album's release Kelly
was placed on the Best of Boston Singer-Songwriter Compilation CD
for the year 2001. "Coming Undone" was quickly reviewed as "a little
treasure that will make a lasting impression in the folk/rock scene".
The 11-song disk weaves her listeners through some seriously thought-provoking
lyrics and confident, hooky melodies. The solid arrangements are
the perfect compliment to her gutsy vocals, ranging from the most
intimate pairing of acoustic guitar and voice - to the intricate
harmonies and rhythms of the six-piece band. This is no surprise
as Kelly's background lies not only in the song-writing field, but
in the jazz field as well.
Boston, Massachusetts has now become
Kaye's stomping grounds and the place she calls home. Her voice
has become a favorite of music fans in and around the New England
area. Her song-writing and voice have been compared to Shawn Colvin
and Sheryl Crow - but make no mistake about it - this girl's got
her own thing going on and it will not go unnoticed. One gets the
feeling when listening to Kaye Kelly sing that she may well have
come undone - but that she has definitely found her way.
Kaye is currently working on her
second album and touring in the New England area.
